Fishing Events.We believe that all Veterans and any Member of any branch of service, who have served our country through the years deserve a day on the lake. Fishing can be adapted for veterans of all physical abilities, ages, and experience levels. This inclusivity allows participants to engage at their own pace and comfort level.

February : Holes For Heroes
This ice fishing event is held at the beginning of February on Medicine Lake just west of Minneapolis. The Holes 4 Heroes tournament specifically aims to honor and support military veterans, providing a platform for them to enjoy a day of fishing while also raising awareness about the challenges they may face. Participants will drill holes in the ice, drop their lines, and engage in friendly competition to reel in the biggest catch. This multi-Species weight tournament offers 1st and 2nd place winners in each of the following categories; walleye, Northern Pike, Bass, Sunfish, Crappie and Perch. The tournament not only promises a day of fun and camaraderie but also serves a greater purpose. This event is hosted in partnership with Fishing For Life. We provide hot beverages and food for all participants. |

June : Trolling For Troops
This fishing event is held at the beginning of June with fishing locations at Mille Lacs Lake and the Mississippi River. Veterans and Active Duty service members are paired with a well known professional fisherman and others to guide the fishing experience in boats that make heads turn. Prizes are awarded to the most successful anglers! Event is hosted in partnership with the American Legion, VFW, Camp Ripley, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Military Order of the Purple Heart and Minnesota Veterans 4 Veterans. September : Gals and Gills
This fishing event is held at the beginning of September at the MN Elks Youth Camp in Nisswa, MN. It provides a unique opportunity for women veterans to fish and bond with each other in a north woods environment. The women are paired with a professional angler to enhance the fishing experience.
