Welcome Home Veterans - Helping homeless veterans turn an empty apartment into a home
Welcome Home Veterans provides a home starter kit for homeless veterans moving into permanent housing. These veterans often have nothing - literally nothing - with which to furnish an apartment. It is more than simply a kit. It provides everything for the kitchen, bedroom and bath to make the apartment livable. We've discovered the most important items may be something to eat, something to sit on, toilet paper and/or a clock radio to combat the silence. For someone transitioning from a homeless shelter or living on the street, the kit alleviates the stress and anxiety of having to determine not only what is needed for the apartment but also how to pay for it and how to transport items.
The kit contains among other things:
